Why is it that molina addresses valentine by his first name(valentine) and valentine address molina by his last name,surname,(molina)? Apart from the differences that molina sounds more feminine and valentine being that serious detached person, are there any deeper reasons? Posted by tsha757 on Apr 9, 2008. |

At the end of the novel, when Valentin is in the final fantasy state (albeit morphine induced) he appears to see Marta - his girlfriend from before prison - on a beach in a romantic setting. She is said to be making "webs" from her body which we assume gives the images of a spider. Hence the title. Posted by irishshaper on Jan 13, 2009. |
