Kim is the last of Kipling's novels set in India. Readers interested in Kipling's other writings about India should look at The Jungle Books, a series of animal fables.

Victor Saville directed a 1950 Metro- Goldwyn-Mayer film version of Kim, starring Dean Stockwell as Kim, Errol Flynn as Mahbub Ali, and Paul Lukas as the lama. The adaptation is fairly faithful to the novel, but the movie's ending is far more dramatic than that of the novel. The movie seems to take place over a shorter time span, which reduces the sense of Kim's gradual emotional growth.
