When the conspirators reach Brutus' house, it is somewhere between three and four in the morning.  They arrive in a pack, in the dark, in the middle of the night.  They are wearing cloaks with their heads covered.  Brutus scolds them for looking too suspicious.  If their deeds are for the good of Rome, they have no reason to hide.  For the men to come to his house at that hour, dressed as they are, throws suspicion onto their deeds.  Brutus wants their intentions to be honorable.
