Act II Scene I of the play takes place at Brutus's house.  The time period is shortly after Caesar has returned from defeating Pompey and is about to rise to power.  Remember that Shakespeare combined a decade of history into one play, so the text itself does not accurately match the historical occurrencesin reference to time.  It is the early morning on the Ides of March (March 15th), and Brutus is out in his orchard pondering his thoughts on Caesar's authority.  The conspirators show up shortly after and the men finalize the plot to assassinate Caesar later that day.
