You can consider the internal and external conflict of Cassius and Brutus as their struggle with loyalty to Caesar, the Counsel or themselves. In other words, conflict always contrast the right or wrong things, and for the most part it presents a battle field in the mind of the character(s), and/or persons involved. Was the decision they made appropriate or inappropriate and how do they rationalize the concept of murder? They reason that murdering, or turning against Ceasar is based on the opinions of the Counsel and what they eventually observe of Ceasars behavior to become ruler and take over Rome.
