The portentous dream of Calphurnia: Julius Caesar allows himself to be convinced for a short while by his wife but with the arrival of Decius, Caesar bows to flattery and chooses to believe in Decius' interpretation of the dream as being positive which he says is a fortunate one. This influences Caesar to go to the Capitol instead of remaining at home disregarding the several warnings of Nature and the soothsayer. A sense of fate: The soothsayer's warning 'Beware the ides of March' carries a high sense of fate. However, Caesar would disregard the soothsayer as a lunatic. Caesar's ghost: When Caesar's ghost would appear to Brutus on the battlefield, Brutus would be influenced to go to Philippi. Caesar has remained mighty even after his death, he is still influencing his enemies' behaviour. For Cassius: The numerous supernatural occurences which happen in Rome mean disaster to its inhabitants. He is therefore more eager to murder Caesar when in fact he is using the portentous events as his proofs that he is right. PS: I tried my best. Posted by oumaimah on Mar 4, 2008. |
