Question:
What is the most authoritative biography of Joseph Conrad which focuses upon the psychology of the man?
For my own enjoyment, I plan to read all of his works in their order of creation, but want to read his biography first.

There is "A Personal Record" by Conrad, and many of his letters have been published in volumes. Zdzislaw Najder is a great Conrad scholar. His book Joseph Conrad: A Life (Studies in English and American Literature and Culture) is a great overview of Conrad. If you are interested, Chinua Achebe wrote some great criticism on "Heart of Darkness". You should check that out as well.
