Thanks, I am writing on subjection of Women by John Stuart Mill; most people seem not to believe in the equality of both genders, and seeing marriage as a bondage that women are put into. I agitate that they should be freed. Thanks.

I do not believe that all marriage unions bond women and puts them in an inferior role. There are plenty of relationships that don't involve marriage where the woman feels that she is the subordinate of her partner. Marriage in other cultures and religions can subject women, since once they are married there are many rules for women to adhere to that put them in an inferior place. But in America and other free socities, marriage I believe does not contribute to the subjection of women.
