She married after and was happy but she wanted a sense of eternal justice in the hereafter. While slipping into death, the desire to make her first love know that she ended in an honorable way is left unquenched. She waits upon a sign from God that a sense of justice will be measured out against him for his cowardice and cruelty. When nothing happens, she feels rejected again.
