How did you feel before and after studying the play Julius Caesar as a student?

I can't answer this question for you. The first time I read Julius Caesar as a student, I was a high school sophomore. That was way back in 1976! What I remember is that the teacher made us memorize Antony's funeral speech and practically beat us on the head if we mispronounced the word "grievously" (no, it is not greeveeusly).

Seriously, you are the only person who can answer this question. Believe it or not, sometimes teachers really are interested in your opinion. This is your opportunity to let the teacher know whether you enjoyed or disliked the lessons. Be constructive in your answer. Don't just say, "I liked it" or "It stunk." Give suggestions for what might have made the play more interesting to you. Would it help to act it out? Would watching a movie version help? Would a modern English version be easier to understand?

Think about the question for a bit, and I'm sure you'll come up with a great answer. Good luck!

This is actually more of a personal reaction than an intellectual response question.  Perhaps this question would get greater response in the discussion section than here in the Q&A section.

Personally, it depends on what you take away from the play and how much background knowledge and experience you had before reading the play.  There are many life lessons to be learned from this play:  for instance, choose your friends wisely, trust your gut instinct (Caesar didn't trust Cassius and Cassius wanted to kill Antony, too), and there are many political lessons as well.
