I have to put together a project, but I am having a very hard time finding a quote that supports when the story takes place?

That's a tough one... without re-reading the book, I have some suggestions.  Early on (like 2 or 3 pages in), Jane talks about a book she is reading.  It is Thomas Bewick's "History of British Birds." The book itself is real, and it was published from 1797-1804, which suggests that the story takes place sometime after 1804.  Other than that, Mr. Rochester's excursion to Jamaica gives a time frame for British imperialism in the West Indies, and St. John's missionary to India does the same thing.  Historically, you can use those two events to place the novel probably in the 1820s or 30s.  Hope this helps!
