    You are required to live on campus both freshman and sophomore year, unless you're a commuter student (I've only met one, though). In general, roommates are matched up very well. Of course, there are the occasional roommate horror stories you hear about. If you and your roommate really don't get along, to the point where you seriously cannot live together, you can talk to the director of residence life. And, if you can make it through the first semester, you can switch for the second semester.

    Some people find a roommate before school starts. And of course, after freshman year, you'll live with a friend (or multiple, if you get a suite!).
