What are the political and social leanings of most students and faculty? Is it easy to express opposing views?

A MESSAGE TO CONSERVATIVES:

Here's something I wish I would have known before coming here: there are zero conservative political science professors, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a conservative professor of any discipline. If you're outspoken, and not afraid to be the only one who questions the professor, then you'll have no trouble at IWU. On the other hand, if you don't like the idea of sometimes being the only one of a certain political persuasion, you might want to think harder about this.

If you plan to major in political science/you're passionate about politics, all this will matter. If, like most IWU students, you're apathetic and uninformed when it comes to politics, you probably won't even notice this aspect of campus culture.
