Posted by cmcqueeney on Friday September 21, 2007 at 7:54 AMIn chapter 7, Sir Henry questions Barrymore about the crying from the night before. He claims he knows nothing about it citing that there are only two women in the house - the maid and his wife, and he claims she was not crying. Watson knows it's a lie because he sees Mrs. Barrymore later that morning in bright sunshine and he can see whe has red eyes and swollen eyelids, so he knows she was crying.

Posted by renelane on Friday September 21, 2007 at 7:54 AMWatson had questioned Barrymore about a woman crying, yet Barrymore stated it was not his wife. Barrymore's wife had swollen eyes that were red from crying. Watson knew that her husband would have known his own wife was crying.
