why was fogg and passepartout arrested?
1 Answer | Add Yours
Private detective Fix is convinced the Fogg is a bank robber, so he is already trying to arrest him. When the warrant for Fogg's arrest doesn't arrive in time to arrest Fogg at Suez, Fix becomes Fogg's and Passepartout's travel companion. In Bombay, Passepartout barges into an Indian temple without thinking of the rules regarding it. Christians are not allowed to enter the temple, and even those who may must remove their shoes. Passepartout ignores both rules and explores as much of the temple as he likes. The British Empire punished people who didn't observe the native religious practices, so when they all arrive at Calcutta, they are both arrested.
