Training is important for all of these groups that will be working with students with special needs because working with such students is not easy.  It is also not something that can simply be done by “winging it.”

In order for a person to work as effectively as possible with a special needs student, they need to be trained.  They have to have a solid background in the specific needs of students with various disabilities.  People who have not been trained might think that they can just make it up as they go along.  But if they do so, they will not have the benefit of the research on the issue.  If they get training, they can learn what scientific research says works best with students who have any given disability.

Thus, it is important for all of these people to have training so that they can give the student the best care and education possible.
