Why should free speech be allowed in schools?
1 Answer | add yours
To the extent that free speech should be allowed in schools, it should be allowed because students need to learn how to be full members of society.
One major aspect of American society is that we have many rights. One of these rights is the right to freedom of speech. This right is fundamental to American society. One of the things that school is supposed to do is to teach students how to function properly in American society. If schools do not allow free speech for students, it will be hard for them to learn how to be full members of American society. Free speech will allow students to be better able to express themselves while understanding the responsibilities that come with free speech.
