The United States continues to expand linguistically. This has been the case for decades due to immigration. Due to the large influx of Spanish-speaking immigrants, Spanish is widely considered America’s the second language, a fact that is hotly contested, but is not likely to change.
As such, bilingual employees are valuable due to their language skills for various reasons. For example, they can reach out to potential customers with limited English proficiency. They can develop new markets in non-English speaking countries. Although job duties may differ from company to company and position to position, speaking a language other than English fluently is considered an asset.
Because knowing more than one language is very helpful. It shows that you are able to communicate with many different costumers, and the Hispanic population in the USA is growing and It will be nice to be able to communicate with the 2nd most spoken language in the USA.
