Breakfast is a very important meal of the day. It is one which should never be missed. The usual breakfast should consist of carbohydrates and proteins and provide approximately one third of the body's daily energy requirements. It can consist of cereal, fruits, dairy products and the alike which are light, easy to digest and high in nutrients.
Eating a good breakfast has been found to improve the academic performance of children; they suffer less from obesity and are more active and energetic throughout the day. Breakfast alleviates heart ailments and many other illnesses associated with excess consumption of the wrong foods and in adults. Food that is eaten as breakfast can be digested and used in a better way by the body and it also enables the body to deal with physical and mental tasks that have to be done throughout the day in a more efficient way.
Breakfast literally means, break the fast. The fast refers to the fact that if your body is asleep at night, you are not eating during that time. In the morning, you need to have breakfast to replenish nutrients that will get you through the early part of the day and to provide glucose for the respiration process to give energy to the cells in the form of A.T.P. Studies have shown that children who eat breakfast perform better in school. The brain and body are low on energy when you wake up which is why this is the most important meal of the day. Skipping this important meal may affect your ability to perform at school or work and may lead to overeating at lunch or making poor choices. Therefore, eat breakfast everyday!!!!
