Why did Danny go back to Haiti in "Night Talkers"?
1 Answer | Add Yours
Dany has returned to Haiti to tell his Aunt Estina that when in New York he found Albert Bienaim who had killed his parents and deprived Estina of her eyesight. Earlier, in Haiti, it seems that Danys parents, particularly his father, had been involved in dangerous internal politics, and that the family had been marked for elimination. Estina makes sure that Dany was sent to New York to escape the murderers (paragraph 168), and was living there until his return to Haiti at the storys beginning. While in New York, Dany had found that Bienaimtoo had fled Haiti, and was now working as a barber.
