Middle School Teacher
Before the invention of the light bulb, there was a very successful industry in creating light by using gas. Thomas Edison was the first person to successfully create the light bulb. There were many people before him that attempted to create the light bulb but were not successful. These people included Warren De La Rue, James Lindsay, James Joule, and Heninrich Gobel. Many inventors had tried to perfect the incandescent lamp by sub-dividing electric like used in the home because some of the light was too bright for small spaces for the home.
