Who benefits from subsidies for corn/corn syrup?

- Corn growers. These growers are essentially being given extra money to grow corn. This is clearly a benefit to them.
- Those who make products from corn/corn syrup. The subsidies cause the supply of corn to increase. An increase in the supply of corn will (all other things being equal) make the price of corn go down. This helps those who must buy corn to make their products.
- Consumers who consume a great deal of corn. These people are paying lower prices than they would in a free market. Other taxpayers are paying to lower the prices that these people have to pay.
