Roots mean solutions that make it true or zeroes.  A possible solution would be:

`(x + 2)(x + 1/2)(x -5)`

``when multiplied gives you:

 `x^3 - 5/2x^2-23/2x - 5`

which is choice a from your solutions.

`-5/2 = -2.5`

and `-23/2 = -11.5`
