The equation x^2 + y^2 = 36 is that of a circle with center at (0, 0) and radius 6.

If a point (x, y) lies in the circle x^2 + y^2 < 36.

For the points given:

(1, 1): 1^1 + 1^1 = 2 < 36. This point lies in the circle

(8, 2): 8^2 + 2^2 = 68 > 36. This point does not lie in the circle.

(5, 4): 5^2 + 4^2 = 41 > 36. This point does not lie in the circle.

(2, 6): 2^2 + 6^2 = 40 > 36. This point does not lie in the circle.

The only point that lies in the given circle is (1, 1)
