When the bombing in Vietnam started in 1965, how did it affect American's fashion?

1965, the United States bombs Vietnam, riots over civil rights for Blacks reach a fever pitch in this country. Malcolm X is killed and Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested for his civil rights work in the South. Fashions also changed as women’s skirts got shorter, men’s hair grew longer, the miniskirt makes its first appearance and the Beatles come to the United States. Bellbottom pants invade as the protest over Vietnam also increases. Many protesters began wearing pheasant skirts, bellbottom pants, love beads, body- paint and army jackets. The summer of love, hippies in Berkley and Woodstock, and Mary Jane takes the country by storm. The fashions became freer. Bright psychedelic colors, less structure, more freedom. It was about comfort, freedom, and making your parents cringe anyway you could. Not much different than today really.
