What was the extent of the changes that occured during the 1920's?
With an emphasis on cause and effect of the changes.
I was thinking of a boom in tech, a cultural revolution, nativism, a shift to conservative policy, and so on. What was the extent of these changes in terms of cause and effect? Thanks!

It would be hard to talk about the extent of the cause, so I'll talk about the extent of the effects.
The change in the 1920s that had the greatest effect was the rise of cars and of a culture that emphasized leisure and entertainment. These both had a huge impact on the US both in economic terms (the car industry, the movie industry) and in cultural terms (cars came to dominate US life more and more, entertainment remained important even in the Depression). Both of these changes have continued to grow and grow in their effects even up to the present day.
It's possible to look at nativism and culture wars (fundamentalism) from the '20s and say that they have had an impact because we have them in the US today. But those things went away soon after the 1920s and have come back. Our current issues do not stretch in an unbroken line back to the '20s.
