The Edict of Milan had a very important impact on Christianity.  It made Christianity legal in the Roman Empire, thus freeing Christians from having to worry about persecution by the government.

Before the Edict of Milan was issued, Christians often faced official persecution because they would not engage in traditional religious practices that were seen as important for the state.  After Constantine issued the edict, Christians no longer had to worry about this sort of thing and could follow their own beliefs without so much fear.

Because it freed them from the fear of persecution, the Edict of Milan had a major impact on Christians.
