To find the variance, first find the mean.

Mean is the average of the data:  14.8

Variance is the average of the squared differences from the mean.

So:

`((10-14.8)^2 + (12-14.8)^2 + (15-14.8)^2 + (18-14.8)^2 + (11-14.8)^2 + (13-14.8)^2 + (14-14.8)^2 + (16-14.8)^2 + (19-14.8)^2 + (20-14.8)^2) / 10`

The variance =  10.56
