I think you mean a student of classics. This is a common misunderstanding, because classics is not studied too much anymore. Many colleges are down sizing in this area. Classics is the study of Greek and Latin along with its history, literature and civilization. Usually, students of classics study both Greek and Latin, but they usually focus on one or the other. Also, it is further broken down to the study of poety or prose (history usually). Also, the study of classics requires German and French, because a lot of the scholarship is in those languages. Many classics students also have interests in mythology, ancient religions and literary theory.
