It is estimated that one out of every three children (33%) worldwide will die from malnutrition before they reach the age of five. These statistics come to us from the World Health Organization (WHO) June 2010 report.
The causes of malnutrition aren't simply because of lack of food. They are due to the lack of sustainable food--food that contains all the nutrients that a child's growing body needs to sustain life, insure proper growth and development, and further their species through normal reproduction. Life is a never-ending cycle: we have to be born healthy, grow up healthy, and be able to produce our own healthy offspring. If there's any break in the cycle, humanity will suffer.
Here is America most people have unlimited food sources available to them. The sad thing is that they make unwise choices in the foods they consume. Most would rather eat "junk food" that tastes good but is lacking in the essential nutrients needed for proper growth. These types of food has led to the alarming rise in obesity, Type I diabetes, and learning disabilities that we see in our youth today. And it doesn't stop there.
Most of us, if not all of us, overeat. This practice leads to digestive problems, obesity, heart problems, circulatory problems, and behavioral problems. It's bad amongst we adults, but it's especially bad amongst our children. As an editor on livestrong.com says . . .

An overweight child has a greater tendency to be an obese adult and that lead to a lifestrong struggles with health risks and problems. We should make sure our children have healthy foods placed before them, and encourage them to adopt healthy eating habits so they, in turn, can conceive and bear their own healthy children.
