  • I: iber (above or over); ineveynik (inside); interesant (interesting).
  • O: oy (an expression of surprise or disgust); onrirn (to touch); onvern (to lose).
  • V: vaksn (to grow); varmes (dinner); vaser (water).
  • W: wen (when)

Q and X are not usually used in transcribing Yiddish words to English.
