It's no secret that Brazil has had a history of corruption and even companies who strive to remain honest have a difficult time operating above-board. Still, there is something that can be done to reduce the instances of a foreign company falling into corrupt practices when operating in Brazil. Companies should have strong and publicly available anti-corruption policies established prior to setting up shop in the country. Disclosure of these policies should be readily available to anyone who wishes to read them. Doing so may discourage those who wish to operate illegally from even attempting to create under the table deals.
