Nuclear medicine is a medical technique which involves the usage of radioactive substances that can be used for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. One of the major concerns of this method is its applicability on cancer cells and its treatments.
The benefits of nuclear medicine can be summarized as follows:
2. cost effective
3. can aid prevention of probable disease through radio tracers
4. painless treatment
5. can detect the following health irregularities:
irregular blood flow, aneurysm
cellular disorders that can lead to cancer cells
Disadvantage of which would focus on the frequency of exposure to radioactive materials. Nuclear reactions can induce cellular changes and not all body types can carry that. Nuclear medicine are not advised for children and pregnant women because children and babies have high sensitivity to nuclear reactions.
