The simplified form of y squared minus 5y plus 6 over the quantity y squared minus 2y minus 3 has to be determined.

y squared minus 5y plus 6 over the quantity y squared minus 2y minus 3

=> `(y^2 - 5y + 6)/(y^2 - 2y - 3)`

=> `(y^2 - 3y - 2y + 6)/(y^2 - 3y + y - 3)`

=> `(y(y - 3) - 2(y - 3))/(y(y - 3) + 1(y - 3))`

=> `((y-2)(y - 3))/((y+1)(y - 3))`

=> `(y-2)/(y+1)`

The given expression is `(y - 2)/(y + 1)`
