To simplify the expression, we need to use the rules for exponents:

`(128a^12b^6)^{1/3}`   distribute the exponent

`=128^{1/3}a^{12/3}b^{6/3}`   simplify each exponent

`=2^{7/3}a^4b^2`

The expression has simplified to `2^{7/3}a^4b^2` .
