The atomic symbol for gold is Au. This is derived from the Latin word aurum. The Latin word is more interesting sounding than the English word. "Aurum" could be used as a name, or even "Aurum Man" for a superhero name. For a female name I personally like "Aurelia". Of course, you could borrow from the old James Bond movie Goldfinger where the main villain is named Auric Goldfinger.
Two important characteristics of gold metal are its malleability and electrical conductivity. Malleable means that it is easily shaped without breaking apart. So one of his or her powers could be the ability to withstand numerous hits without breaking or even the ability to change shape at will. You could also use gold's electrical conductivity to make the superhero able to jolt enemies with an electrical blast or touch.
