I grew up being told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That being said, I am not really a breakfast person. Regardless, breakfast should include foods which energize the body--get it ready for the day. Good breakfasts can include grains, fruits, protein (like eggs), and dairies.

What you eat for breakfast tends to set up the rest of your day. If you are trying to watch your weight and avoid later day munchies, it is a good idea to have a balance of protein and high fiber foods so that you stay full longer and have the energy for the day without relying on later sugar binges to give you that short-term burst of energy. A good breakfast might have an egg and whole wheat toast with a little jam. Oatmeal is a great breakfast food because there is a fair amount of protein in it. A fruit smoothie made with a high protein Greek yogurt and a scoop of a whey protein powder can also work well.

There is no perfect breakfast. It depends on the health needs of the person. My mother always said to eat the fattiest meal in the morning, so you have all day to metabolize it. Maybe that is why breakfast foods are so high in fat and calories. In the old days, they would have to get you through a day of tough physical labor.

It is a proven fact that eating breakfast can help you maintain a healthy weight. Breakfast sets up your metabolism and jump starts your energy levels. Once, people generally ate a hearty, heavy breakfast. This was usually because they were heading out to work hard physical labor on the farm. They wouldn't get lunch or it might be a very light lunch like a sandwich. Breakfast had to carry them over to dinner. Now, most of us no longer live that kind of lifestyle. A light breakfast rich in whole grains and protein is sufficient. Most of us do not need the extra calories that once loaded the breakfast table.

A rich meal doesn't mean in the sense of thq quantity, but in the sense of what energy we can get from each food.

'Rich' food includes proteins: egg, milk, cheese, carbohydrates: grains, oats and maybe also a small fruit.

I don't think we can ever truly have a "perfect" meal.  Rather than looking at and analyzing the quality of an individual meal, we are better off looking at what we consume over several days or a week.  Eating a perfect breakfast isn't a huge help if we then proceed to eat junk food the rest of the day.

Its different for everyone. Some people prefer to eat a light breakfast and eat again before lunch. Others prefer a heavier breakfast. Any healthy breakfast should contain a mix of carbohydrates for energy and protein for muscle. Fruits, milk, breads, nuts, yogurt, and egg are good examples of a healthy breakfast.
