There are many ants in Africa, but I will narrow my response down to one type. The genus of this specific type of African ant is Dorylus.  It is also known as the driver ant, safari ant, and siafu.  This ant is found primarily in eastern Africa.  These ants are known for their ferocity.  They are very aggressive and instead of stinging they bite with their pincers.  They are known for this bite because it is very strong.  It is difficult to remove a Dorylus once it has grabbed onto something. Dorylus have been known to actually rip in two before letting go of something it is holding.  All Dorylus are blind and they communicate through the use of pheromones.
