What is the role of foreman? and what instruction does the judge give the jurors before he sends them to deliberate?

these are questions i have for the book twelve angry men

The role of the foreman is to ask questions on behalf of the jury, facilitate jury discussions, and sometimes to read the verdict of the jury.

Question is not specific enough. Generally stated - the judge instructs the jurors on the law.
