x-intercept of a graph of function means the point where the graph cuts/meet/intercept the x-axis. When a polynomial intercept the x-axis, at that moment y = 0.

`y = x^4+1`

When y = 0;

`x^4 = -1`

`x^4>=0` always. Therefore no x-intercepts.

This has been shown in the graph below also.

*So the graph does not intercept x-axis for real numbers of x. The correct answer is given in a).*
