What in the photos you brought back helps to tie the event portrayed to the local culture and social reality while being related to the Vietnam War?
From the Internet, bring back two photographs for discussion of their impact: one from Vietnam activity (not necessarily combat-related) and one from any other source that you think made significant impact on the public. For each one, write a paragraph about why that photo made significant impact on the public perception of events.

Some things in photos relating to the Vietnam War that tie the war into the local culture and social reality are hair and clothing styles, allusions to wealth and class, references or allusions to education or educational institutions. In this image, there is the cultural contrast between the man with the plastic glasses, short hair and tucked in shirttails and the men with longer hair, loose fitting and untucked shirts, beads, and metal rimmed glasses. The social reality reflected is the rejection of post-World War II conformity and the decisions of the government.
