Gene duplication, as the name suggests, can be defined as the repetition or duplication of a region in DNA when it is being copied or reproduced. This phenomenon plays a major role in molecular evolution thus responsible for the mutation of organisms.

Gene translocation is a process wherein chromosomes were abnormally rearranged as parts of a certain chromosomes are transferred to another non-homologous chromosome/s.

Both played role in disease such as genetic disorders and cancers. However gene duplication plays a major role in evolution therefore DNA duplication occurs more frequently.
