A work-flow analysis is a review of an organizational processes geared towards making them more efficient and streamlined. A work-flow analysis identifies bottlenecks, inefficiencies and faults in an organizations business process and makes or suggests improvements to it. The process of a work-flow analysis goes through the following stages:

  1. Establishing desired goal and purpose for the analysis
  2. Documenting the current work-flow and processes
  3. Making  or recommending changes to inefficient parts of the process
  4. Implementing the new process

There are many tools, techniques and methodologies that could be used to perform a work-flow analysis. The selection of a specific method will depend on the type or organization and process being analyzed.
