This is a very philosophic question! As you may know, in Greek mythology Pandora's Box was actually a jar or container given to Pandora (the first woman) by Epimetheus. It was Zeus, angry because Prometheus had stolen fire from heaven who gave the beautiful container to Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus. Pandora, who had been told not to open the box, did so and let all the evils out into the world, she closed the box just in time to retain hope for mankind, so when all else appears lost we retain hope. So one simple answer may be that is we open the box again then mankind will lose hope, a thing we all cling to sometimes in spite of all the pressure on us. Otherwise if we open the box too far there are many dangers for mankind. A failure to encounter global warming and the melting polar ice caps could lead to savage weather change, increasing deserts and the loss of our beautiful planet. We have also opened the box in creating the nucleur bomb and allowing countries to develop it, if it gets into the hands of terrorists then they can hold us to ransom. We have not yet destroyed our world and hope remains. But mankind must make sure no more evils are released!
