According to the CIA Factbook, the land area (not counting ocean) of the Philippines is 298,170 square kilometers.  This comes out to approximately 115,124 square miles of land area.

The Philippines is made up of more than 7,000 separate islands.  However, most of these islands are really quite small.  The biggest 11 of these islands have almost all of the land area of the country.  They make up 94% of the country's total land area.  The largest island, Luzon (where the capital of Manila is) makes up about one third of the land area of the whole country.

Republic of the Philippines is an island country situated in the southwest of Pacific Ocean, about 100 kilometres from the coast of mainland Asia. Indonesia lies to the southwest of Philippines and Vietnam to the west. It is an archipelago of 7,107 islands and islets. The two largest islands, Luzon and Mindanao, make up about two-thirds of the total area. Its capital is Manila which is also its largest city.

The land area of Philippines, as given by the enotes article referred below is 115,831 square miles, which is slightly different from the figure given in the answer posted above. Of the total area of the country about 61% includes sea area. It has a coastline of 36,289 kilometers that makes it the country with the 5th longest coastline in the world.
