What is meant by the kingdom of God?

Different Christians have different specific beliefs about what the Kingdom of God (or, as Matthew calls it in his gospel, the Kingdom of Heaven) is. There are some differences of opinion, for example, about whether the Kingdom of God will exist on Earth, or somewhere else. However, there is a general consensus that the Kingdom of God is something that will exist at the end of time. At the end of time, God will triumph over evil. People, in whatever form they exist, will no longer be ruled by other people in imperfect governments and countries. Instead, God will rule over all things and all things will be just as God wants them. In other words, there will be no more evil in the world, no more bad people doing bad things. The Kingdom of God will be an eternal situation in which everything in happens in the way God intends. It will be a situation in which there is nothing that acts against God’s will. In short, it will be a perfect world in which God is sovereign in all ways.
