What makes a top 100 hospital?
1 Answer | add yours
The top 100 hospitals are determined each year by a group called Truven Analytics. Hospitals do not apply to receive this recognition. Rather, the distinction of a top 100 hospital is determined by data analysis of previously defined indicators.
In order to be considered a top 100 hospital, a hospital must be an acute care facility that serves a variety of patients. Ten indicators are used to rank each of the hospitals. The indicators include things such as mortality index, core measures scores, 30-day readmission rate, HCAHPS scores, among others.
