I suppose Benjamin reminds me a bit of myself.  He is pretty cynical about the way the world works and the way his government works.  He does not believe that he as an individual has any ability to cause any real change in his society as a whole.

Since I am one of these people, I do not feel too badly about them.  I think they behave this way because it is a realistic way to behave.  If I jump up and down and yell and scream about how terrible our political system is and how stupid people are for thinking the way they do, all it will do is raise my blood pressure.  I do not have the power to change the way people think and that is why I behave as I do, politically speaking.

Benjamin has a very pesimistic point of view on the world. He believes that everyone and everything will fail. For instance, he voted for neither Snowball nor Napolean and believed both their ideas were hoaxes. I believe that people like Benjamin have lost all hope and describe the world as it is. They believe that there is no way the Earth can change, no matter how much people try. I think people behave this way in order to make other people realize the ugly truth and to just live life the way it is, whether you like it or not. Which is exactly what Banjamin did, he was unhappy with the living conditions on the farm but no matter what stayed there even after Boxer died.
