Canadian immigration policy, like policies in the U.S., are evolving. In 2002, policies were relaxed and now allow for reduced skill requirements in order for an applicant to be considered. It's policies are broader than many countries and include four classes: 1) Family Class 2) Economic Immigrants (skilled) 3) Other (Humanitarian) and 4) Refugees.
