Let line `L_1`  posses through (5,1) has slope m.

Thus any line `L_2`  passes through (5,1) and perpendicular to `L_1`  has slope (-1/m).

Thus equation of line `L_2` is

`y-1=(-1/m)(x-5)`

`my-m=-(x-5)`

`x+my=5+m`

which is standard form of equation of line.
